A Week at Camp Denman
Sunday – Saturday · One Week Creator Residency
Every cohort runs for six nights and six full production days. The week blends structured workshops, studio access, and open collaboration.
The goal is simple: leave with finished work.
Sunday — Arrival & Orientation
Creators arrive throughout the afternoon.
Afternoon
- Ferry arrival and campus transport
- Tent check-in and campus orientation
- Studio tours
- Equipment check and setup
Evening
Welcome dinner overlooking Baynes Sound.
Each creator introduces: what they make, what they want to build this week, and what collaborators they're looking for.
Many collaborations begin immediately.
Monday — Creative Direction & First Production
The first full day sets direction for the week.
Morning
Workshop: Creative Workflows in the AI Era
Topics include: modern creator pipelines, automation and distribution, building your creative infrastructure.
Late Morning
Vibe Coding Lab #1
Creators learn to build simple tools using AI. Examples: auto-transcribing podcast recordings, generating social media clips, automating show notes. No coding experience required.
Afternoon
First Studio Production Blocks
Spaces include: recording studio, film studio / cyc wall, art studio, Code & AI Lab, performance room. Creators begin recording, filming, and building.
Evening
Campfire gathering. Informal performances, music, and conversations.
Tuesday — Collaboration Day
Tuesday focuses on interdisciplinary work.
Morning
Workshop: Collaboration Across Disciplines
Examples: filmmakers + musicians, dancers + videographers, coders + podcasters.
Late Morning
Collaboration matchmaking. Creators form small project teams. Examples: short films, music videos, collaborative podcasts, multimedia installations.
Afternoon
Deep production time in the studios.
Evening
Open Mic Night in the performance room. Music, spoken word, stand-up, or works-in-progress.
Wednesday — Deep Production Day
Wednesday is intentionally unstructured.
The entire day is dedicated to creating.
Studios open early and stay open late.
Typical activities: recording podcast episodes, filming scenes, editing footage, writing scripts, building AI creative tools, producing music.
Many creators record multiple pieces of content in one day.
Thursday — Editing, Publishing & Distribution
Thursday shifts focus from production to finishing.
Morning
Workshop: Distribution & Creator Monetization
Topics: YouTube growth, audience building, sponsorships, subscription models.
Afternoon
Editing and finishing sessions. Creators prepare work for release online and showcase presentation.
Evening
Vibe Coding Lab #2
Creators build: content automation tools, workflow scripts, publishing pipelines.
Friday — Final Production & Showcase Prep
The last full day is about finishing strong.
Morning
Final studio sessions. Creators polish their projects.
Afternoon
Showcase rehearsal. Each creator or team prepares something to present. Examples: short films, music performances, podcast segments, visual art, software demos.
Evening
Camp Denman Creator Showcase
An intimate performance and screening event. Everyone in the cohort shares their work. This is often the most memorable moment of the week.
Saturday — Departure
Morning coffee and breakfast. Creators exchange contacts and plan future collaborations.
Many projects that begin at Camp Denman continue long after the week ends.
Departure throughout the morning.
Typical Output from One Week
Creators often leave with:
