A group walking the Camp Denman property together

    Denman Island

    Our island community

A meeting place for people who make things.

Denman Island has long been home to artists, musicians, writers, farmers, craftspeople, builders, and technologists. Camp Denman exists to strengthen that ecology—not to sit apart from it. Exhibitions, open studios, workshops, and shared programs should give local makers and visiting creators useful reasons to meet.

    How we participate

Local benefit is part of the operating model.

    Community access

Denman Island residents receive preferred pricing where available, early notice for local programs, and invitations to open-house days throughout the year.

    Local purchasing

Wherever practical, local farms, businesses, tradespeople, artists, and suppliers come first in bringing Camp Denman programs to life.

    Knowledge shared

Islanders can propose an hour-long workshop, a weekend intensive, a residency, or another useful way to share a real skill with campers and neighbours.

    Camp Denman Studio

Community is conversation. Showcase is publication.

This page is about Denman Island neighbours and local partnerships. Inside Camp Denman Studio, two separate product spaces serve a different purpose. They are not duplicate feeds.

    Private member space

    Studio Community

Private rooms for questions, works in progress, cohort coordination, and collaboration. Only eligible Camp Denman members can read or participate.

Studio Community is currently reserved for invited members.

    Reviewed public work

    Showcase

A public gallery for finished work that its creator has submitted, consented to publish, and Camp Denman has reviewed. Drafts and private discussion stay out.

Showcase publication is currently reserved for invited creators and reviewed work.

    Everyone has knowledge to share

Bring us the useful thing you know.

Artist, volunteer, educator, business owner, neighbour, or someone with an idea: tell us what you would like to teach, host, supply, or help build. Community proposals belong in a conversation—not in the camp admissions application.
