    Why This Exists

The Gap Has Never Been Wider

In the last two years, AI collapsed the distance between having an idea and shipping it. One person with the right skills can now record an album, edit a film, launch a podcast, build a website, and automate their entire distribution — without a team, a label, or a studio budget.

Most creators haven't caught up. They're still stitching together fifteen subscriptions, doing manually what a well-built pipeline does in seconds, and working in isolation.

Camp Denman exists to close that gap.

We teach film, music, performance, writing, and visual art. And we teach every creator to vibe-code — to build their own tools, automate their own workflows, and stop renting their creative infrastructure from someone else.

The camp was vibe-coded. The booking system was vibe-coded. The grant engine was vibe-coded. That's not a pitch. It's how we operate — and what we'll teach you to do.

    A clear monetization path

Practical frameworks for turning creative output into sustainable income.

Under Construction Camps — Starting March 8

We're not waiting until the camp is finished to open it. Under Construction Camps run every week from March 8 through May 24. Come stay on the property, help us build, eat with the crew, and be part of the story. $500/week. BYO shelter.

This is muddy boots, power tools, and ocean sunsets. Not a polished experience. A real one.

    The Property

    What It Is

Camp Denman is a creative campus being built right now on Denman Island, in the waters between Vancouver Island and the British Columbia mainland. The property is 37 acres with almost 1,000 feet of oceanfront, surrounded by forest on three sides.

We're converting the original Elkhaven lodge — a children's camp that served thousands of kids over decades — into a professional creative campus: a recording studio, a film studio with a cyclorama wall, an art studio, a Code & AI Lab, a commercial kitchen, a live performance room, and three classrooms. Cat 8 ethernet throughout. Outside, 20 steel-frame glamping tents are going up now on raised platforms with electrical, HVAC, and ocean views.

The first adult cohort arrives May 31, 2026. Construction runs daily. A food truck feeds the crew on-site.

This is not a retreat. It is not a festival. It's a working camp with professional infrastructure for people who make things — and who want to learn to build the tools they make things with.

Every camper gets base hours in every studio, included with the ticket. Studio packages give you more.

    Recording Studio

Acoustically treated. Cat 8 hardwired. Music, podcasts, voiceover, sound design.

    Film Studio & Cyc Wall

Cyclorama wall for seamless backdrops. Film, photo, content creation, and production shoots.

    Art Studio

North light, wood floors, original brick fireplace. Painting, printmaking, fabrication.

    Code & AI Lab

Cat 8 ethernet, GPU workstations, local AI models. This is where you learn to vibe-code — to build your own creative tools with AI. Content pipelines, websites, apps, automations, interactive projects. No prior coding experience required. The AI writes the code. You direct it.

    Live Performance Room

Intimate room for live music, spoken word, comedy, rehearsal, and the end-of-week showcase.

    Commercial Kitchen

Being built out now. Food truck feeds the site in the meantime. Three meals a day once open.

    The Story of This Place

This Land Has Been a Camp Before

The property at 2325 Northwest Road was Camp Elkhaven for decades — a free children's camp run by the Elks of Canada that gave thousands of kids an experience they couldn't access at home. BC Ferries provided free passage. Groups came from across the province. The building, the orchard, the oceanfront — it was all theirs.

When we acquired it, the lodge had seen better days. Islanders called it Rat Haven. We gutted it and rebuilt it as a professional creative campus.

The mission changed. The spirit didn't.

Camp Elkhaven gave kids access to something extraordinary. Camp Denman does the same for creators. The same forest. The same ocean. The same seven-acre orchard. A new chapter in the same story.
