    How a Week Runs

    Sunday

guest arrival, orientation, welcome activities, and introductions.

    Monday to Thursday

core teaching days with guided sessions, studio time, and participant support.

    Friday

closing activities, informal sharing, and an end-of-week gathering.

    Saturday

guest departure, site reset, and staff transition.

    Disciplines

Welcomed as equals — no hierarchy

    Film & Video

Story, camera, and edit — from script to a finished short, with a working film studio.

    Music & Audio

Writing, recording, and production in a professional studio built for sound.

    Visual Art

Painting, ceramics, print, and mixed media — hands in the materials, daily.

    Performance

Movement, theatre, and live showcase, drawing on the island’s performing community.

    Culinary

Shared tables, seasonal cooking, and the craft of feeding a creative community.

    Digital Arts

Design and build a working app or site — creative making with modern tools.

    Systems Design

Engineering, designing, prototyping, and publishing — turning ideas into things that work.

Cohorts are multidisciplinary on purpose. A filmmaker may score a session with a musician; a writer may turn an idea into a working site alongside a coder. These unexpected collaborations are the point — and they tend to outlast the week by years.

    Every cohort includes

    A canvas tent

Rustic canvas-tent lodging, set close to the shared creative spaces.

    Three meals daily

Seasonal cooking and shared tables — a core part of how the camp connects.

    All studios

Access to the film, music, art, and digital studios throughout your stay.

    Workshops & mentorship

Daily programming and guidance from faculty who are working professionals.

    Airport shuttle

Shuttle transportation from Nanaimo or Comox airport and the ferry, so you can leave the car behind.

    Tours & field trips

Day tours and field trips exploring Denman Island — its shoreline, trails, and creative community.
