Camp Denman

Characters, scenes and stories / Free written class

Design a reusable scene

Use place, light, camera and optional ink to build a scene that can support several shots.

Before you begin

Bring an original idea and only files you own or have permission to use. You can plan the assignment without running a paid job. Existing age, consent and account restrictions still apply.

Practice uses the tools currently available to your account. Read the live estimate before each paid action; credits, subscriptions, provider access and faculty feedback are not included merely by reading this class.

The class

  1. Define the task

Invent a setting with a foreground, middle distance and background. Open Scene Lab, name it and choose its availability deliberately. Saving a stage does not require inventing a finished generated image.

  2. Work in the tool

Set time, weather and camera controls, then save and reopen. If requesting a plate, applying ink or asking for a new angle, review the specific credit estimate before each paid action.

  3. Compare and revise

Compare any generated view with the scene brief. Check the horizon, doors, lighting direction and scale. Ink is an instruction area, not a guarantee that every pixel outside it remains unchanged.

  4. Finish and keep it

Save a version before a major revision and keep a simple continuity map. Share a reference or attach the scene to a story without assuming collaborators can edit the original.

Your practical assignment

Deliver a scene brief, saved settings and a continuity map for two possible shots.

Review your work

Does the place remain understandable when camera or light changes?

  • Purpose: the work answers the brief and the specific review question.
  • Craft: you identify defects, compare a deliberate revision and verify the final file.
  • Process: sources, permissions, settings and decisions are documented honestly.

Screenshots and video

This edition contains the written curriculum. Tool walkthrough screenshots and video are being prepared; no generated result or recorded demonstration is claimed here.

Questions about learning online

What will I make in this class?

Deliver a scene brief, saved settings and a continuity map for two possible shots.

How do I judge whether my result is ready?

Does the place remain understandable when camera or light changes?

Does reading a class enroll me in an online course?

No. The public written curriculum is available here. Guided online courses require a real published course and the appropriate Learn access. Check your signed-in course list for what you can actually take.

Are tool credits and a teacher included?

No. Check the current tool estimate and your account access before running work. These self-guided assignments do not promise teacher feedback, a certificate or a reserved live class.

Can I keep my assignment private?

Yes. Creating, submitting an authorized course assignment, privately sharing and publishing are different choices. A public lesson does not make your files public.
