Before you begin
Bring an original idea and only files you own or have permission to use. You can plan the assignment without running a paid job. Existing age, consent and account restrictions still apply.
Practice uses the tools currently available to your account. Read the live estimate before each paid action; credits, subscriptions, provider access and faculty feedback are not included merely by reading this class.
The class
Define the task
Write the specific task that needs a remote GPU and what ordinary tools cannot do. Check the current plan requirement, balance, rate and maximum session duration; access and provider availability are separate gates.
Work in the tool
Open Workbench and read its real status before launching. If a previous launch is being reconciled, wait. A provisioning state is not a ready workspace and a preview does not reserve capacity.
Compare and revise
If authorized and available, keep a start-time record and monitor the visible session status. Save outputs through the supported path. Never paste account secrets into a shared notebook or public screen recording.
Finish and keep it
Stop the session using its offered control and verify the final status and receipt. Reopen saved outputs in My Work. Closing a browser tab is not proof a metered remote session has stopped.
Your practical assignment
Deliver a session plan, cost-and-stop checklist and an output-return plan without launching just for this exercise.
Review your work
Can the work be completed, returned and stopped without an unaccounted remote session?
- Purpose: the work answers the brief and the specific review question.
- Craft: you identify defects, compare a deliberate revision and verify the final file.
- Process: sources, permissions, settings and decisions are documented honestly.
