Restore speech and finish audio conservatively

Choose among dialogue cleanup, noise reduction, enhancement, restoration, repair and mastering by the actual defect.

Before you begin

Bring an original idea and only files you own or have permission to use. You can plan the assignment without running a paid job. Existing age, consent and account restrictions still apply.

Practice uses the tools currently available to your account. Read the live estimate before each paid action; credits, subscriptions, provider access and faculty feedback are not included merely by reading this class.

The class

  1. Define the task

Listen to your own recording and log damage separately from character. Use dialogue or podcast cleanup for intelligibility, noise reduction for unwanted noise and speech enhancement for clarity. Keep room tone and breath when useful.

  2. Work in the tool

For archival restoration, lossy repair or audio upscaling, state what is damaged and compare against the original. These tools may synthesize plausible detail; they cannot prove the original sound was recovered. Process one issue at a time.

  3. Compare and revise

For generated-audio finishing or Master demo, compare loudness at a matched listening level. Watch for clipping, pumping, harshness and lost dynamics. Stem separation can help diagnose a problem before another processing pass.

  4. Finish and keep it

Keep a source, each intermediate and the final file. Test the export on headphones and a phone. Stop when further processing harms the recording; louder and cleaner are not always more faithful. If an entitled guided assignment opens this tool, read its current brief and rubric, explicitly select compatible prior personal course work, and check the real output before returning to Learn. Reuse opens the current editable file while a submitted snapshot keeps its version. Missing or revoked assignment access blocks a run; pending or failed work is not a submission. Review the actual ready Vault file selection and submit explicitly. The current class is still preparing; a practice link alone does not enroll you or prove a provider is available.

Your practical assignment

Deliver an A/B record naming the tool, defect, preserved character and reason for keeping or rejecting the pass.

Review your work

Is speech easier to understand without unnecessary artifacts or a false claim of recovered truth?

  • Purpose: the work answers the brief and the specific review question.
  • Craft: you identify defects, compare a deliberate revision and verify the final file.
  • Process: sources, permissions, settings and decisions are documented honestly.

Questions about learning online

What will I make in this class?

Deliver an A/B record naming the tool, defect, preserved character and reason for keeping or rejecting the pass.

How do I judge whether my result is ready?

Is speech easier to understand without unnecessary artifacts or a false claim of recovered truth?

Does reading a class enroll me in an online course?

No. The public written curriculum is available here. Guided online courses require a real published course and the appropriate Learn access. Check your signed-in course list for what you can actually take.

Are tool credits and a teacher included?

No. Check the current tool estimate and your account access before running work. These self-guided assignments do not promise teacher feedback, a certificate or a reserved live class.

Can I keep my assignment private?

Yes. Creating, submitting an authorized course assignment, privately sharing and publishing are different choices. A public lesson does not make your files public.
