Before you begin
Bring an original idea and only files you own or have permission to use. You can plan the assignment without running a paid job. Existing age, consent and account restrictions still apply.
Practice uses the tools currently available to your account. Read the live estimate before each paid action; credits, subscriptions, provider access and faculty feedback are not included merely by reading this class.
The class
Define the task
Record an original short story with your own voice in a quiet place. Capture a little room tone, keep the untouched source and note the intended audience. This exercise does not require cloning a voice.
Work in the tool
Listen first, then choose only the cleanup that addresses an actual problem. Compare at matched volume and keep character in the voice. Save source and revised audio separately.
Compare and revise
Create a transcript if the available tool supports it, then correct words while listening. Write a short accessible summary. Do not turn unclear audio into an invented quotation.
Finish and keep it
Finish at a comfortable level and reopen the download on a phone. Share only the chosen file with its summary and permissions. A public profile post, private share and course submission are separate choices.
Your practical assignment
Deliver original and finished audio, a checked transcript or written summary, and an A/B decision note.
Review your work
Is the spoken meaning intelligible, faithfully transcribed and shared with appropriate access?
- Purpose: the work answers the brief and the specific review question.
- Craft: you identify defects, compare a deliberate revision and verify the final file.
- Process: sources, permissions, settings and decisions are documented honestly.
Screenshots and video
