Before you begin
Bring an original idea and only files you own or have permission to use. You can plan the assignment without running a paid job. Existing age, consent and account restrictions still apply.
Practice uses the tools currently available to your account. Read the live estimate before each paid action; credits, subscriptions, provider access and faculty feedback are not included merely by reading this class.
The class
Define the task
Write a short fictional scene with a want, obstacle and change. Create a private Story project and identify who is present, where it happens and what changes by the ending.
Work in the tool
Break it into a small shot list. Attach permitted character and scene references where supported. A library reference guides the work; it does not replace the story or grant permission for every use.
Compare and revise
For each board, describe framing, action and camera purpose. Generate only when needed after checking estimates. Review screen direction and continuity before making more shots.
Finish and keep it
Save the story and boards, reopen the project and review the sequence. Keep notes on revisions and ungenerated shots. A finished storyboard can be the assignment even when no paid video is made.
Your practical assignment
Deliver a short scene, a shot list and continuity notes with boards where available.
Review your work
Can a viewer follow the action and emotional change without contradictory shots?
- Purpose: the work answers the brief and the specific review question.
- Craft: you identify defects, compare a deliberate revision and verify the final file.
- Process: sources, permissions, settings and decisions are documented honestly.
Screenshots and video
This edition contains the written curriculum. Tool walkthrough screenshots and video are being prepared; no generated result or recorded demonstration is claimed here.
