Working arrangements

Seasonal or program-based work. Hours, season, start date and final employment arrangements will be agreed during hiring. Meals are provided by the camp kitchen. The Head Chef has a private bunkhouse bedroom.

What you will do

• Plan menus, recipes, quantities, preparation and service schedules around camp programs.
• Lead daily kitchen work, assign duties and mentor cooks, assistants and approved volunteers while preparing and overseeing meals.
• Maintain food-safety, sanitation, temperature-control and dietary accommodation practices, including clear labeling and prevention of cross-contamination.
• Coordinate approved food and supply orders, stock rotation, waste reduction and post-program recommendations.

What you bring

• Strong experience leading food preparation for groups.
• Demonstrated food-safety, sanitation, dietary accommodation and kitchen workflow knowledge.
• Experience with menus, quantities, purchasing and inventory.
• Ability to supervise a small team and stay organized during busy service.
